Raman Luthra wins BDGA title

Raman Luthra finished with a 3 under par total for 3 days at the BDGA championship held at Crag Burn.  Raman shot rounds of 67, 69, 77.  He won by 5 strokes, and Jon Clark and Thad Weir finished T2 with 3 round totals of +2.  See full Buffalo News Article for more details.

Tom Rajczak wins Lonnie Nielson Scratch Invitational

Tom Rajczak won the Lonnie Nielson Scratch Invitational on Monday, 8/5.  The tournament was a 36 hole modified stableford format, with scoring as follows: (eagles - (+5), birdies - (+2), par - (0), bogeys (-1), double bogeys or worse (-3)).  Tom shot rounds of -1 and +8, for a +7 total to give him a 1 point victory over Billy Hanes and Dan Yustin who both shot +6 totals.  Tom is no stranger to playing well at Crag Burn as he held the first round lead in the 2010 NYS Mid Am at Crag Burn.  The field was very strong with most of the top players in Western NY in the field.  This was a great win for Tom, and has created some momentum for him (and the other players who played well) heading into the BDGA championship which is being held at Crag Burn on Thursday - Saturday (8/8 - 8/10) of this week.  All scores have been posted in the tournament results link on the right side of the web page.  Congratulations Tom on a great win.

Matt Stasiak Wins NYS Am

Luthra wins BDGA Mid-Am in Back to Back years

Raman Luthra won the BDGA Mid-Am Championship at Lancaster CC on Monday, July 8 with an even par round of 72.  Raman won this tournament last year as well at Park CC.  See the Buffalo News Article by Jay Skurski for full details.

Matt Stasiak wins Erie County Amateur

Matt Stasiak shot rounds of 70 and 67 for a 2 round total of -3, and a 5 shot victory over Johnathan Snyder and Dan Yustin.  All scores can be found at the following link: Erie County Am Scores

Mark Drabik and Mike Carrig win Burn Nash Title

Mark Drabik and Mike Carrig won the Burn Nash scratch best ball tournament at Crag Burn for the 2nd year in a row.  They finished with a total score of -14 over the 54 hole tournament.  Congratulations to both of them!

Luthra defeats Covelli in a playoff to win the BDGA Tournament of Champions

Luthra won the BDGA Tournament of Champions in a playoff over Chris Covelli, after both shooting  rounds of -1, 71. Matt Stasiak shot an even par 72 to finish 3rd, and Bob Rosen a +1 73 to finish 4th.  See full results under 2013 tournament results on the right hand side of the website.  Gary Keppel shot a -4, 68 to win the Senior division.

Blackwell and Rosen win Clete Fox Invitational

Eric Rosen of Transit Valley CC and his partner James Blackwell won the Clete Fox Invitational, defeating Keith Alf of Transit Valley CC and his partner Matt Stasiak who finished 2nd.

BDGA Tournament of Champions

As a reminder, the BDGA Tournament of Champions is scheduled to take place this Sunday, 6/9 at Wanakah CC.  All 2012 club champions as well as the top 20 players from the 2012 BDGA points listing are eligible for this event.  Also, this event will be worth the same number of points as other BDGA 1-day events (i.e. 120 points for 1st place).  Please refer to the "2013 Points Allocation" link on the left hand side of the page.

Dan Smith Wins Elkdale Open on Home Course

Dan Smith of Elkdale CC won the Elkdale open today in a playoff against Adam Bennett of Bartlett CC, both shotting 69.  Billy Gaffney an Dan Yustin tied for 3rd with a score of 70.  See full results at the following link: Elkdale Open Scores

Mike Carrig Defeats Danny Yustin to Win BDGA Match Play Championship

Mike Carrig won the first major of the year, winning the BDGA Match Play Championship in the first year in which the field has been expanded from 16 to 32 players and earning 250 points in the BDGA player of the year standings.  Some great articles have been written about the tournament, as linked below:

Yustin shoots 67 to win Club Car WNY Open

Dan Yustin shot a ridiculous -3, 67 in very difficult weather conditions today to win the amateur division of the WNY Open at Niagara Falls Country Club.  He won the amateur division by 3 shots over Patrick Sheedy Jr. who shot an even par round of 70.  Conditions were very difficult, with temperatures in the low to mid 40s, rain and sleet mix on and off throughout the day, and consistent 10 - 15 mph winds.  Dan's round was the only under par round of the day, amateur or professional.  See the link for Complete Results.
